Model European Union Spain is an international event held every year in a different Spanish city.
This event shows the work of the European institutions by simulating roles such as MEPs, ministers in the Council of the European Union, journalists, lobbyists and interpreters.

Choose your role
MEP
Defend the interests of your political party in the European Parliament.
Will you be able to reach agreements with other groups to push through amendments so that the proposed laws are similar to your assigned point of view?
Minister
As a minister of an EU country in the Council of the European Union, you will have to defend your country's interests.
Will you manage to reach the famous 55% majority of countries representing 65% of the population to get the law through?
Journalist
Journalists, attentive to any developments in Parliament and the Council, have a daily press conference where they can ask questions, expose divergences, and expose any scandals among political decision-makers.
Lobbyist
Expert on the issues to be debated, but with an agenda. Lobbyists move in the shadows to get legislation passed to suit their interests.
Can you convince MEPs and ministers to include your interests in their amendments?
Interpreter
Interpreters in MEU Spain will interpret and translate orally some of the conferences and other moments of the simulation between various languages so they can be understood by all participants.
European Council (crisis chamber)
There is a crisis affecting the European Union that requires an immediate response.
You will have to find a solution as head of state, head of government or other actor involved. But bear in mind that what happens in the European Council will influence what MEPs and ministers do.
